At least I blog more than I floss.

And I floss more than I run marathons.

And I run marathons more than I kill people.

Sure enough, over 20 years later I remember most of it.  Revisiting this masterpiece has been one of the highlights of my year.  After lots of “oh yeeeeahh, I remember that”‘s and a few “holy cow, people were like that?”s I’ve decided to share the joy.

Merry Christmas – here are a few things that might be fun to remember.

PLEASE HELP: I don’t know what to do when I approach a group of people that I would normal hug except for one.  Is it rude to avoid hugging that person after hugging every single other person?

Can’t sleep because I’m so excited about a post I’m working on – It’s a bunch of pictures from one of the greatest publications ever publicated.  I can only pray that you have as much fun looking at them as I did.

• Pee (sometimes standing)

• Put on clothes – anything will do
• Take Jeff on a walk to Empire State South
• Tie Jeff to pole and go inside.
• Drink delicious coffee and write.
• Check Twitter, email and Facebook.
• Walk back home with Jeff.
• Shower. (Some washing. Mostly just standing with bad posture)
• Put on clothes – the correct ones.
• Juice (at home or at Arden’s Gardens on the way to work)
• Go back home and get whatever I forgot

I found this clip last night, and I’ve been thinking about it all day. It’s an amazing display of class, talent, and even some improv comedy.

Now that you know HOW to properly hug man-to-man, it’s important that you understand the appropriate timing.

If giving / receiving a “Bro Hug” properly then you should be communicating one of the following messages.

- “Great to see you, man.  It’s been a while.” 

If you haven’t seen each other for quite some time, then go for it.  But, how much time has to go by before the bro-hug is justified? That is up for debate, but one thing is for sure – more than once a week is too much.  I have only hugged Tyler once in the last 3 years*

- “Farewell Man.”

If you are absolutely certain that you won’t see each other for a while – a goodbye hug is okay. Just make sure it happens at the last possible second.  Say everything you need to say, THEN hug, THEN get the hell out of there.  There should NEVER be any post-hug conversation.  Even avoid eye-contact if possible.

- “I’m so sorry.”

It’s okay to comfort another dude who is having a rough time in certain extreme circumstances.  Just ask yourself the question, “Did someone die or get dumped?”  If your answer is “no”, consider a pat on the shoulder.

-”Thanks Dad.”

Father son embraces are welcomed and encouraged in most situations: when receiving gifts, after vacations, paid dinner bills, or even when and if he tells you he’s proud of you.  But, if he’s merely refilling your beverage, handing you the remote, or driving you somewhere – no need for an embrace.

-”I’m gay and I hope this progresses.”

This pretty much covers every other possible situation.
