The 1990 Sears Wishbook

Thanks to ebay I was able to get my hands on the single greatest periodical of all time.  Every year as a kid I would spend hours studying the pages of these as if my life depended on it.

Sure enough, over 20 years later I remember most of it.  Revisiting this masterpiece has been one of the highlights of my year.  After lots of “oh yeeeeahh, I remember that”‘s and a few “holy cow, people were like that?”s I’ve decided to share the joy.

Merry Christmas – here are a few things that might be fun to remember.

(don’t forget to look at page 2)

My favorite is the Charlotte Hornets page.  May they rest in peace.  The only thing that would’ve made that better is if it were a Starter jacket.  Hmm… I wonder whatever happened to mine…

I always wanted that roller coaster set and the clear phone. Still kinda do. Thank you for taking me back to 5th grade!

This was an incredible trip down memory lane. For two months out of the year, this book was my Bible. Thank you, Tripp Crosby. Thank.you.

If I were to show this to my siblings who were born in 91 and 94, they’d be like “Man, Kim you are old.”

I lived in the Charlotte area when the Hornets left.

I TOTALLY remember this wishbook…and all these styles.  I’m right there with you praying they never come back in…including the boy bands! Thanks for the tripp down memory lane.

I definitely had both a Teddy Ruxpin and a NKOTB pillow … not as cool as the sleeping bag, but still equally awesome.

captions are the best.  thanks for that stroll down 90′s memory lane.

I want the dog sleeping bag.

Ahhhh, now I understand why #8 was called a “mocking turtleneck” – 20 years of hindsight changes everything. I still think the Hitachi color photo printer is cool, I used to fiddle with it in the store right next to the Apple Newton display….

I would keep that info to yourself :)

I am actually looking for a doll that I purchased for my daughter out of that book, it is called lullabye baby I think, its features were that it sang a lullabye. It was a crib toy that when baby moved in crib the doll would sytart to sing the lullabye. If you could give me the exact name of this doll I may have better luck findingthis doll. Thanks.
