Head Lines V Films and Video

It was an amazing movie week.  I left Midnight in Paris with a renewed appreciattion for Woody Allen.  He’s the absolute best at making supernatural things happen in the most non science fiction way.

The Adjustment Bureau is the most interesting and thought provoking presentation on free will vs. fate (or predestination) that I’ve ever seen.  I am craving a three hour conversation with a group of people who have also seen this.

Horrible Bosses was way funnier than I expected.  Dang, what a cast.  This film totally rejuvenated  my desire to one day make  a feature film with Tyler.  We easily have 90 minutes worth of jokes, but what would the premise of our movie be?  Seriously, any ideas?

My new favorite youtube videos are quickly becoming the very worst ones.  Here is an example. Listen Carefully.

Dot Dot must be very proud of her family’s dedication to sound design.

There was a kite in that video? I saw one on the ground, and that could have almost been stock footage of a kite in the air.

No comment on the movies as I’ve not seen them, but I want to.

Cool! How in the heck did the Kite Family get Schroeder to write the musical score their video? I was expecting Snoopy to bobble-head dance into the frame….

Agree that “Midnight in Paris” was great and thought that “Adjustment Bureau” was exceptional…especially coming off the heels of Damon’s horrible collaboration with Clint Eastwood in “Hereafter.”

Can’t wait to see Horrible Bosses – loved Spacey in the 1994 “Swimming With Sharks” so it seems like Bosses will be a sequel of sorts.

Ok – here’s the pitch for you and Tyler…think Morgan Spurlock’s “Supersize Me” meets Robert Altman’s “The Player” (or perhaps Jim Henson’s original “Muppet Movie”) – a mockumentary about creating a film, complete with musical numbers, helicopter shots, dream sequences, plenty of Chic-Filet product placements to help subsidize expenes….what think ye?

I like the idea of a mocumentary, but I feel like you mocking me :)

GO SEE THEM. And, wow. I didn’t even notice that there was never actually a kite flown in this film. What a slap in the face for Dot Dot.

I loved the adjustment bureau!  It had some cool layers of meaning and was thought-provoking for me.  It wasn’t as thought-provoking as Bridemaids – but I still loved it.  Kidding!  But really it was a great movie – I think Matt Damon is great.  I haven’t seen the others but I want to

If my kids/grandkids/people who care about me ever “fly” a kite in my honor instead of  coming to my birthday party, I am not going to be a happy person.  I can just imagine the conversation that went on between the parents in this video….

    Wife: I don’t want to go to your grandmother’s 90th birthday party….
Husband: Yeah, I’m not really into it either.  Maybe we should just fly a kite in her honor and videotape it.
Wife: Perfect! Then we can finally use that iMovie thing that I’ve been wanting to try!
Husband: Kids! Get in the minivan….we’re making a movie!
