Double Dare is the single greatest game show ever to hit television. If you ever find yourself having a tough day, I recommend listening to the guitar shredding, soul motivating theme song. I’m telling you, it’s impossible stay in a funk while daydreaming of green slime filing a clear cup that’s strapped to your head.

I still feel like I know Marc Summers, the unforgettable host who has since released his book on fighting OCD. I believe he coined the phrase, “On your mark, get set, Goooooo”

And don’t forget Harvey, the announcer. When I think of the words, “nintendo” “casio keyboard” or “space camp” I hear them in Harvey’s voice.
Also, it’s because of this silly game show I noticed girls for the first time. I remember once a day scanning my class looking for the lucky girl I would choose to be on the blue team with me.
Is it just me or did the kids on Double Dare consistently disappoint you on their obstical course performance? Why did they only cast nerdy, heavy-footed quiz bowl champs?
