another phone mishap

A FEW MONTHS AGO…

One day in my car I was feeling really good about myself.  I felt so good that I decided to practice ventriloquism in my rear view mirror as I sat in traffic.

“Hey, what are you talking about?” (in a high pitched muppet like voice)

“Hey, what are you talking about?”

“Hey, what… are.. you talking about?”

I said it over and over again, each time trying to move my lips less.

After I said it for the 32nd time, I looked down into my lap to find something terrible.

My phone.

Connected to my friend Mack.

It wasn’t even on speaker, and I could hear him laughing.

Me: Hello?

Mack: “what are you talking about” hahahaha

Me: You could hear that?

Mack: We all could.

Me: Who is “all”?

Mack: I’m over at Catalyst at a meeting.  I have you on speaker.

Me:

Mack: I guess you accidentally called me. What the heck are you doing?

Me: … if I tell you I’ll be even more embarrassed.

Just got to work and I’m chugging coffee and trying to wake up – this story had me rolling and I’m officially awake. HILARIOUS.

Dude that is AWESOME! We all have those moments, I got caught singing Wham- Careless Whisper when I was in college by about 10 friends. I was in my bedroom just whaling and they were sitting in the living room laughing at me. I had no idea for about 3 minutes!

    That is awesome.

Hilarious. I did a similar thing where I texted about someone in frustration to my friend, but I accidentally sent it to the person I was frustrated with.

How is everyone this morning? I feel like we are becoming a big family over here in Tripp’s blog comment section. Lots of regulars, lots of intimate life experiences being shared.

You used to accidentally call me about every other day. I’d listen for a few minutes waiting for a moment like that. So far, no luck. But I’m sure my day will come.

This reminds me of when I emailed Mariners church to see if we could put 100 rubber ducks in their baptismal pool… Except that I made a very careless typo that implied something of a different nature. Check out the letters around the "u" on the keyboard and draw your own conclusions.

Your blog is hilarious and I'm enjoying catching up on the last few months.
