nostalgia, Seriously

It’s happened.  Nerf guns have officially become more sophisticated than real weapons.

Even an M-16 machine gun would loose an intimidation contest against the Nerf Longshot CS-6.  Yet, this semi-automatic piece of plastic would still be defeated by a guy merely throwing rocks.

When will they stop making them bigger?  When will they start making them hurt more?

I’m anticipating a day when I go outside to find my cousin Ben driving through my yard in a giant yellow tank.  It will make a bunch of loud clicks and wheezes as it swings the massive gun around, and then…. phuhhh,  a little dart will shoot out.

I know. I know.  It’s all about the children.

But, I’ve seen Nerf guns that are larger than most children I know.

And, did you know there is a now a Nerf gun video game for the Nintendo Wii?  Do we really need a pretend version of a pretend game?  I guess the actual nerf guns just weren’t safe enough for the kids.  Or, maybe the “pretendineers” are now looking for ways to make life safer for the digital characters who usually get their heads blown off.

I miss nerf footballs, and video game M-16s.

nerf footballs were always so much easier to catch than pigskins.

Do you see how old the guys are in the nerf videos?!

There goes the argument that these kinds of toys are a gateway to real guns…
