Now that you’re twittering…
Here are some tips.
1. Don’t really tell us what you’re doing. An occasional status update is fine, but no one really cares that your finally at work. On the other hand, if you forgot to wear pants to work please tweet about that immediately.
2. Do inspire us – Say anything you want if it makes us laugh, think, cry, or rush to buy something.
3. Don’t tweet more than 15 times a day. We will stop following you.
4. Do tweet more than once a week. We like you more than you think.
5. Don’t respond to tweets more than you tweet - Seriously. Don’t have 2-way conversations with people on Twitter. That is called “texting” You probably already pay a monthly subscription fee for that technology, and you should use it.
6. Do respond to lots of tweets - Don’t get me wrong. Interaction on twitter is a great thing. And it’s good for all of us to be reminded that people are actually listening.
7. Do retweet (RT) – It’s the ultimate twitter compliment – feels good to know you said something worth repeating.
8. Do tweet pictures – It’s a sneaky way to get 1000 words out.
What are some other important Do’s and Don’ts?

I do not tweet….not against it, just don't need more excuse to ignore my children. hard enough to blog, facebook, email, check all my friend's blogs, read the online newspaper.
my theory is that only funny or very important people should tweet. too many people think they fit in that category….but clearly do not. My husband would be great, but he doesn't even have a facebook or myspace account….too many steps behind.
He's talking to you NASA, please take heed to #3 before I drop you like a booster rocket. You made going to the moon boring on television forty years ago, and Twitter is not making much of an improvement. Your profession is creating controlled explosions and sending people to space, yet you come off like C-SPAN covering a senate sub-committe meeting. Play it cool guys, play it cool.
Do not only tweet Bible verses. We have youversion for that.
Do not ignore the people who @ reply you. If they think enough of you to send you a message, at least make them think you care every once and a while.
Airport tweets are necessary. It saves the trouble of retelling the impossibly boring story to all your friends who don't care.
Don't follow people just because they follow you. Half the twitter world is just people trying to build up their numbers by following as many people as possible and hoping for a follow back. If somebody follows you, read their last 20 tweets. If it's something you're actually interested in, and you believe the person is providing valuable information (or humor), follow them back. Don't reward bad behavior!

don't follow the "10,000 followers in 20 minutes" guy or the "make 6k/day DM ME" guy
Those guys recently lost their jobs making the "lose 75lb in two days" signs and are looking for something to do. We would appreciate it if you didn't contribute to the madness.
I just deleted my Twitter. *Cue loud audience SIGH*……i tried to keep up but i was failing. better to bail the tweetboat than to get thrown overboard. lol.
