“John Mayer is one of the two artists who I will always, no matter what, without review, buy his next album.” – Me, 5 thing’s I’m looking forward to
Only one person guessed correctly who the other artist is, and it was my sister Melissa. That’s right, I was actually referring on Monday to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Like many, I grew up on MJ, and I plan on forcing my own children to like him. I’d say he will be missed, but let’s be honest. He was already missed. The man has been sick for a long time, and the Michael Jackson we all love is the one who has been gone for a while.
But, his music, his influence, and his eccentric dance moves will continue to inspire. His three decades of hits will continue to sell. And as long as I live, I will continue to hold my belt buckle, and horribly imitate the famous leg-kick on the dance floor at weddings.
That being said, here is today’s “Friday Five”
Best Ever Superbowl Halftime Show – 1993 Superbowl Part 1 and Part 2
Most underrated MJ song – Keep the Faith (warning: this video might make you a bit sad)
Strangest MJ move – Yelling on top of air vents that were shooting out smoke. I’m sure it was a rush for him, but I just don’t think it looked to us like it felt to him.
Most attempted, yet poorly imitated dance move – the moonwalk. I don’t want to toot my own synthesized horn, but I feel like I’m actually pretty good at it. See for yourself.
Best MJ cover – Tyler Stanton performing “Will You Be There” at Family Camp (warning, this will make you feel slightly embarassed)
What is your favorite MJ song, music video, and trademark move? I really want to know, and then I’ll tell you all of mine.

Favorite song: Beat It: because, I can channel my inner MJ on guitar hero and rock out like no other.
Favorite dance move: anything in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7MmEMrCRfc&fe...
Favorite Video: is this really even a question? Thriller.
Favorite song: "Rock with you" – one of the coolest drum openings of any song. A great "get the crowd dancing song" at weddings.
Favorite Michael Moment: Just telling my wife tha his Super Bowl Half-time … by far the most spectacular.
Last night my boys (12/11) and I sat down and YouTubed "Thriller", "Beat it", and "ABC" …. they appreciated it. Me too!
A friend of mine put it this way. "MJ was our generation's Elvis." True Dat!
It’s officially on.
Favorite song: The Way You Make Me Feel. Well, because of the way it makes me feel.
Favorite dance move: Any of his little Gumby leg moves pretty much do it for me everytime.
Favorite Video: Black or White. It speaks for itself. (On a side note, it seems MJ doesn't look at explosions either. But he does walk through them).
I wish I could say I saw MJ perform that song live with Brittany spears. Wait. I can. I'm bragging. Oops.
